Dean Allen Foyd Sunshine Song - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 04, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Dean Allen Foyd are a remarkable psychedelic rock band from Sweden. They've been around for the last three or four years and in 2014 released an utterly killer 45 on Hamburg-based H42 Records, which this is taken from.

Do yourself a favour and snap up a vinyl copy now before it's gone forever:

There's a great review of the 45 in a recent Shindig! magazine that captures what this is all about:

DEAN ALLEN FOYD – Sunshine Song / Devil's Path H42

Released to coincide with the eighth anniversary of Syd Barrett's passing, the latest release by this psychedelic Stockholm quartet is a brain bomb of extreme sonic intent, and quirk owing far more to the high energy all-effect-pedals-set-to-stun post-Hendrix dementia of acts like Les Goths and Chico Magnetic Band than it does to the whimsy and whimsy of the former Floyd frontman.

Sunshine Song opens with a burst of phased drums and then explodes into a deep, dark, primal stop-start riff that rips through the first three minutes before the whole thing enters the ether on a rocketship of guitar massacre. Devil's Path starts with string quartets stuck in some kind of Dario Argento hell, threatens doom-laden prog and then skitters off into some kind of slashing evil funky blues Beefheart blast.

Utterly astounding.

Amen to that!
