Ne avete sentito parlare da tempo, si vedono in rete le prime immagini e i primi trailer: "Pull it up. An italian story" è finalmente arrivato.

La data da segnare nella vostra agenda è sabato 29 gennaio 2011. L'appuntamento per la proiezione in anteprima è al Centro Culturale Candiani di Mestre alle ore 18.30.

Un battito profondo in levare, dal cuore di una delle scene più ricche e produttive d'europa: "Pull it up. An italian story", il primo documentario sui sound system reggae italiani raccontato dalla viva voce dei suoi maestri: One Love Hi Powa, Bass Fi Mass, Vito War, Pier Tosi, Villa Ada, Godzilla, Mad Kid, I-Shence, Northern Lights, ma anche Alborosie, Sud Sound System e molti altri.

Come si costruisce un sound system, cos'è un dubplate, il mercato, la cultura, le feste e l'impegno: una grammatica spiegata a chi si accosti per la prima volta al genere, e gustosi retroscena e inside views per chi è già appassionato.

Interamente autoprodotto e realizzato da 9 Lives in collaborazione con ReddArmy. Il progetto è presentato da Centro Culturale Candiani e Comune di Venezia, partner tecnici sono Dojo Clothing e TunaStudio mentre supporter ufficiale è un'autorevole rivista del settore come Riddim Magazine.

La giornata si concluderà in grande stile al Pop Corn Club con il party ufficiale che celebra l'uscita del documentario. A partire dalle ore 23.00 si alterneranno alla consolle i più importanti dj e sound system della scena reggae per assicurare una serata assolutamente indimenticabile.

A deep offbeat, from one of the richest and most productive scenes in Europe: "Pull it up. An italian story" is the first documentary on italian reggae sound systems, a tale told through the stories of its masters: One Love Hi Powa, Bass Fi Mass, Vito War, Pier Tosi, Villa Ada, Godzilla, Mad Kid, I-Shence, Northern Lights but also Alborosie, Sud Sound System and many more.

How to build a sound system, what is a dubplate, the musical market, the culture, the parties and the commitment: basics explained to those approaching this issue but also some juicy behind-the-scenes and inside views for the enthusiasts.

A self-financed documentary made by 9 Lives in collaboration with ReddArmy. The project will be presented by Centro Culturale Candiani e Comune di Venezia; technical partners: Dojo Clothing and Tunastudio; official support is the trustworthy Riddim Magazine.

The day will end in full style at Pop Corn Club with the official release party. From 10pm the most famous djs and sound systems of reggae scene will share mikes and vynils for an unforgettable night.
