As the first full length L.P to feature on Unkut, "The Stage Is Set..." released
in January 2003, received the highest of accolades for the straight up, back
to basics, no nonsense skill-fest it delivers both musically and lyrically. Backed
by innovative street level marketing, it exceeded sale predictions nationwide
and has gone on to break new ground, attracting significant interest on a
worldwide scale. From the very outset of "Prelude", the take no prisoner's
attitude of L.C is prominent in this forewarning to what lay ahead. A
murderous bass-line laced with the here-we-are, this-is-us type vocals of the
"Press Release" remix, sees it being a stark contrast from the original yet
equally incredible. "Blood Red Skies" is apocalyptic warfare, "Carlton United
Tragedy" showcases Brad Strut, delivering for the addicts of heavy drums
and the son's n daughters of broken families, and "Beyond Average" is
self-explanatory. "Custom Made" is an ode to the DJ, J-Red, showcasing
some of the finest cuts ever pressed to wax. "Walkabout" features U.K MC
Li'l Angry Man and "Got A Problem Pt.2" is a reworking of the Bob Balans
classic. "Sex Fiend" is rated XXX and on "Hate The Scene" L.C let rip with an
unabashed snipe at all not liked within the Australian Hip Hop Scene. Neatly
rounded off with some laid back skits, "Liquorice Krills", "Space Rap" and the
'buy or die' sentiments of 'Chopper' Read in "Read Between The Lines".
