I am presuming this s a San Francisco indie with the spelling of “Hate” as “Haight” but there is so little information of the label, that’s all I can do is presume. But isn’t that the lure of Rare Soul record collecting, that hazy obscurity of the D.I.Y. creation tat even the label gives up little or no information.
Instant dance intro, catches the ear and a rhythmic wah-wah strums away as remote horns blow away distance. Then an impressive vocal bursts through enhancing this mid-tempo to another level. I’m sitting here thinking oh I do wish there was a vocal group chorus to this Rare Soul stroller, then right on cue they marry up at exactly the right times.
This is classy stuff, a stepper of real intrigue, quality and elegance.
For those of yo seeking a polished street-level performance from God-Knows where? ..look no further, this is a full 4 minutes of real quality.
Boogie motivated Funkers, with be lifted by the relentless horn saturated club-dance flipside, quoting the 1977 dance-craze “The Rock” a really strong dance tune ..
but me I’m still in dreamland with the mid-tempo groove whirling round my head..
