On November 7th, 2015 Bass Player Magazine presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Louis Johnson, which was accepted by his brother Tommy Johnson at Bass Player Live 2015 at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California.

A Louis Johnson Tribute Set followed featuring Alex Al as the Musical Director with guest bassists Abraham Laboriel, “Ready” Freddie Washington, Bill Dickens, and Andrew Gouche.
