With the A-side being the Arthur Lee composed tune, 'I Been Trying', both sides showcase the soulfully impassioned vocals of fifteen year old, Little Ray Jimenez. The coupling of tunes would be reissued a few months later on the Atco label without the backing vocals on 'I Been Trying'.
