"This is Kaguya Houraisan's theme.
Boy, she really is MAD, huh? (Haha) This song brings out a feeling of losing one's cool.
I don't express emotions through songs, I make songs with emotions. And really, the game makes the songs." -ZUN, Imperishable Night's Music Room

It wasn't until I found the above commentary by ZUN and read it that I realized Lunatic Princess is exactly how he describes it.

As it transitions from that slow and melodic intro into a fast and frenzied tempo, it really does have a strong sense, emotionally, of losing one's cool. Having a myriad of rainbow bullets stream at you while this plays in the background really does embody the feeling of lunacy, doesn't it?

It's pretty amazing how much I can still learn about this series' music, even though it's been more than a year since I first got into it. I guess that's also why I can listen to these same tunes over and over, and never tire of them.

This particular arrangement by Unprepared Orchestra doesn't deviate too far from ZUN's original vision, sharing that same contrast between calm and excitement. It makes for a good listen, so I hope you enjoy!
