PUBLISHED:  Apr 01, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
SINGER/songwriter Lisbee Stainton's talent was brought to the nation's attention by DJ Tom Robinson after he heard her single Red.
She was dubbed 'The English Rose with The Eight-string Guitar' and her skills reached the radar of a number of top musicians and producers.
Lisbee joined folk star Seth Lakeman's band, where she sings and plays banjo, harmonium, guitar and harmonica. Her four studio albums include Girl On An Unmade Bed, which was recorded at the legendary Abby Road studios by Rupert Christie, who has worked with Lou Reed, U2 and Greenday.
The Base Sessions team caught up with Lisbee at the famous Water Rats venue in central London, where she lifted the lid on how she crafts her songs, the difference between singing solo and working as part of a band.
She also gives a live performance of the title track of her latest album Word Games, which Radio 2's Bob Harris said was "Just so lovely, beautiful and very delicate music, it's beautiful."

The Base Sessions is recorded and produces at Base Studios in Stourbridge.
