Lindy Fralin is the epitome of the small-shop music craftsman. In the early 90's, he got into making pickups because he couldn't find anything on the market that sounded quite right. Fralin Pickups now have a reputation as some of the most musical and precise pickups on the market. The Blues Special set is one of their most popular S-style configurations. Wound with 42 gauge wire, these pickups have a vintage flavored sound with a touch more beef in the mid-range and no piercing high-end. They're thick enough for single-note soloing, but not so thick that the low end globs up and loses clarity. They do a great job of showcasing the natural sound of your guitar rather than dominating your tone with their own flavor, allowing your technique and style to shine through.
