The Heist

I don’t know what you wanna be tonight
I’ll meet you there at half past nine oh no
There’s nobody that knows

You’re saying that we won’t survive
But we’ve been waiting all our lives, you know
We’ve gotta do this now, oh oh

We’ll be living it up
When we’ve given it up
We’ll be living it up
When we’ve given it up. Oh oh
We’ve got to do this now

There's gotta be just one last job
There’ll never be another mob, oh boy
We’ve got to do this now...

“A very strong contender for the title album of the year.” Do The Dog Music, UK

“The Kubricks bring something surprisingly refreshing to the table. A gem of an album that makes ska and reggae seem like a perfect fit with 21st-century musical trends.” 8.5/10 Bucketlist, Canada.

The Kubricks return in 2017 with their new album, 'The Heist'. Released digitally in January 2017 to exceptional reviews, 'The Heist' soared to No.1 on the iTunes reggae chart.

Produced by Toby Davies (Gentleman’s Dub Club, Maverick Sabre), 'The Heist' brings 12 new tunes including ‘Hold Us Down’ – featuring reggae legend Horseman and rapper Alex Osiris from Monster Florence, ‘Better Of Me’ with the immense Sharlene Hector on vocals, and lead track ‘Down With The Dogs’.

As well as their own headline shows, the band have supported UB40, Bad Manners, The Toasters and Buster Shuffle, with festival slots alongside The Skints and DJ Fresh. They have played to tens of thousands over the last four years with appearances at Wickerman, Godiva, Brownstock, The London International Ska Festival and Brentwood Festival, to name but a few.

Their independently released debut Wasters & Wannabes, produced by Andrew Tulloch (The Charlatans, Madness), started to gain traction in 2014 with support from BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, and BBC 6Music, after Huey Morgan featured the band’s single, 'Self-Help Wannabe'. Tom Robinson chose new track 'Rave With the Rebel' (July 2015) for his show, leading Horace Panter (The Specials) to champion the band, claiming, “I can hear Madness, The Ruts, Squeeze and The Clash in there…”.

With 'The Heist', The Kubricks have evolved their traditional ska sound, adding new elements such as percussion, samples and programming across 12 new compositions that combine the energy of the live band in a new studio setting.
