and there she is complete. she plays and sounds friggin amazing!! better than ANY Les Paul out there, hands down! the broken neck repair went flawlessly. you can't even see where the breaks were, the spline grafts, or anything. the refinish of the repaired areas look very good. The triple-bucker attack is insane! The tones out of this thing are incredible. The pickups are a trio of Kent armstrong black bikini humbuckers-the neck and bridge are at around 15K and the middle at around 9K. It almost sounds like the pickups are wired in series with each other, but they're not. hardware installed are: chrome Grover rotomatic tuners, Wilkinson roller bridge, and late 60's/early 70's Japanese Bigsby copy like you would find on an old Teisco hollowbody. I figured, since this guitar originally had a Bigsby vibrato installed, I'd rather stick with that vibe than drilling for a stop tailpiece. I wired it as follows: neck and bridge pickups to the 3 way toggle switch to a master volume and tone-the pair at the bottom of the picture, and the middle pickup is wired to its own volume and tone-the pair at the top of the picture. that way, the middle pickup can be blended in to the others, or can be used by itself. the pots are 500K volumes and 250K tones with a pair of nice .022 caps. I'm really proud of the job I did on this. And the best part? It was a gimme from a client that had me swap all of the gold hardware from this one onto the replacement husk that the company sent him, to replace this since the neck was broken during shipping. oh, and I also custom cut the pickguard and control cavity covers. I didn't buy those. For more info about lutherie services at: D Guitars Miami LLC, please call: 305-896-1811. Thanks for watching. have a great day.
