"Sgnls crawled out of the corpse of Lesser Known Neutrinos, who were a West Philly 5 piece that T.Cesa and Paul Walker were involved with. After that bands demise, Tony and Paul began playing with Kellzo who was a transplant from the Boston area.

Kellzo admitted his fondness for the drum sound of Suicide while Tony and Paul thought his drumming sounded like Killing Joke- a match made in heaven to say the least. This was the early late winter months of 2009.

Since then SGNLS have maintained a steady output of material; beginning with the self released "Too Modern World" 3 song seven inch, which featured cover art by Ryan Ketchum. Shortly after the 7", they were approached by Linear-B Tapes of W. Philly, which led to the cassette release of the 8 song improvisational noise e.p. "Maleficia". After Maleficia came the split release with Philadelphia's Erode and Disappear. This too was a cassette only release by Sloth Tapes of Delaware.

Following the cassette releases, SGNLS worked with harpist Melissa Santagelo on a score to the 1902 silent film "Le Voyange Dans La Lune" and also contributed material to a benefit compilation for the Philadelphia animal shelter PAWS."
