The Megatons was created in Paris in 2009 with the ambition to regain the wild sound of the wild rockin' bands that prevailed in the northern United States in the late 1950s, early 1960s.
The adventure is attempted by men of experience, Charlie (Singer and rhythmic guitar, ex-Four Slicks, Real Gone Daddies, Loud Mufflers), Didac (Lead guitar, ex-Bad Hangover), Steph ( Bass, ex-Jokers), Jerry ( Sax, ex-Jokers), Dom ( Drums, ex-Boppin' Teds, Dixie Cannonball, Hoochies Coochies).
The sound and the rhythm are in an electric saturated guitar, reverb, heavy bass and drums, syncopated rhythm , pushing the voice. It is a wild wild rock, urban, but it's swing.
The first album, "HYDROGEN BOMB" (Rock Paradise), was perfectly recorded by Jull Rrecords. With 13 little now covers such « Dateless Night » (Tav Falco, Alex Chilton), « Long Ponytail » (Fireballs), « Jelly Roll Rock » (Walter Brown, Cramps), « You're The One That Done It » (Thomas Wayne, Inmates), « You're Late Miss Kate » (Jimmy Dee)...
This amazing album is available in CD or, for those who prefer vinyl, 25 cm.
Les Megatons se forment à Paris en 2009 avec pour ambition de retrouver le son sauvage des formations de white rock qui sévissaient dans le nord des Etats-Unis à la fin des années 1950, début des années 1960.
L'aventure est tentée par des hommes d'expérience, Charlie (voix, ex-Four Slicks, Real Gone Daddies, Loud Mufflers), Didac (guitare, ex-Bad Hangover), Jerry (saxo, ex-Jokers), Steph (basse, ex-Jokers) et Dom (batterie, ex-Boppin' Teds, Dixie Cannonball, Hoochies Coochies).
Le son de guitare est volontairement saturé, le tempo marqué, la voix poussée, il s'agit d'un rock dur, urbain, mais qui balance. Le premier album, « HYDROGEN BOMB » (Rock Paradise), a été parfaitement enregistré par Jull.
