This song is the result of a collaboration that began between Pua Case and Live Peace Woodstock to record a version of "Why Canʻt There Be Peace" by Tom Pacheco that would express the essence, the beauty, and the culture of Hawaiʻi as seen through the eyes of those who love this place deeply.
Many places highlighted throughout this video are still sacred to the people who live here, especially those whose lifestyle include maintaining the traditions, values and skills, knowledge and wisdom of those who came before, those who taught, those who shared, those who lived close to the earth.
For Mauna a Wakea, our piko, our center, to the depths of the sea still sailed on by our great voyaging canoes, we honor you, our beloved Hawaiʻi and we send this message out to all students around the world.. There can be Peace in the world and let it begin with us.
