10 YEARS AFTER * SHE KEEPS WALKING - drum cover - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 07, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Ok, first off this song is off a great album by 10 Years After called Evolution, some albums have no clunkers and this is one, love it, they are so tight. Joe Gooch was a great fit for them after Alvin left.

This album really helps me work on my timing, it's very tight and Ric Lee is doing a bunch of cool things throughout. Listen to what he says in this interview: “You get an inbuilt sense of time. You have got to develop that internal crotchet. Leo doesn’t play bass like many others who anchor the time. Guitarists tend to pull. It’s a great challenge."

“I think it is most important to play what the music requires. There are times when Joe is soloing and I stay off the double kick pedals, others when I really go for it. You’ve got to listen to and feel what’s required for the music that’s going on around you. “When Chick is soloing, for instance, I try to emphasise and be sympathetic to what he is playing. There’s lot of stuff that I can play but doesn’t really need to be in Ten Years After. It’s about exercising taste in what you choose to play, thinking about the audience, and working closely with your fellow musicians.” - Ric Lee; and now listen to what he does and how he works the kit around the song and sneaks in some double bass. Simple where it should be, rockin where it counts. Ric Lee is a drummer's drummer.

The song itself is written by Leo Lyons the bass player and Fred Koller who's written over 300 songs and most of them have been recorded by people you know, look him up.

Off Evolution an album I highly recommend, Joe Gooch - Guitar vocals, Chick Churchill - keys, Ric Lee - drums, Leo Lyons - bass
