Sammons Jazz spotlighted the women of jazz in October 2014 with an outstanding performance by the all-girl band, the Sweethearts of Rhythm: vocalists Carolyn Lee Jones, Heather Paterson, Tatiana Mayfield, and Nina Katrina with Julie Bonk on piano, Rachella Parks-Washington on sax, Peggy Honea on bass, and Andrea Bunton on drums. Harkening back to the famed International Sweethearts of Rhythm, these Ladies of Jazz grooved!
