The other songs are from a LIVE UGLY RADIO REBELLION performance with IKE WILLIS. U.R.R. is a Zappa tribute and the songs are all FRANK ZAPPA COVERS. The U.R.R. songs are from the June 10th 2008 show in CHICAGO at MARTYR'S.

Layla has been studying the art of percussion since 1990 at the tender age of 10. She started playing and reading music in her school band, joining all of the bands available, jazz, symphonic, marching etc., and joined a teen rock band when she was 13. Layla quickly became one of the top high school percussionists in the state of Michigan, being named for such prestigious positions such as 1st chair in Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp's International Symphonic Band, Michigan's all-state band, and in many Honors Bands. After graduating Lincoln Park High, in 1998, she attended Eastern Michigan Univ. for music education and performance, where she became percussion section leader for baskeball band, symphonic band, and in her sub-section of Eastern's drumline, on the quints. After attending 2 and a half years at EMU, she joined forces with one of the top acts out of Detroit, Sista Otis and the Wholly Rollers, playing all over the country. In 2004, they were nominated for a record breaking 16 Detroit Music Awards, making them the highest nominated band in the awards' history. Including a nomination for Layla, for oustanding acoustic instrumentalist, and also including 2 wins for best album, in both the pop/rock AND the hip-hop/urban/funk catagories.

Layla credits her playing to years of studying and performing many different generes of music and of percussion. A well rounded percussionist, Layla is proficient from drumset to hand percussion to classical percussion to marching percussion. And enjoys listening to and playing all types of music from jazz, rock, funk, classical, folk, world music and everything in between. As well as being a classically trained musician, Layla is an avid performer and entertainer. She credits her performing skills to years of dancing, including studying the moves of influences like Janet and Michael Jackson, James Brown, and more.

Currently, Layla performs with many projects, including Ugly Radio Rebellion (a Frank Zappa tribute) who tours regularly w/Frank Zappa's guitarist/vocalist IKE WILLIS. She also tours the U.K. w/P-A-U-L, and performs w/many artists including Joanne Shaw Taylor, U.K. Blues guitar sensation; Screamin' Rachael, the Queen of House music, as Barbie and the Brats; Djilia Phralengo, Acoustic World Fusion (catch it at the MI Ren Fest); Breilstyle Music Co.; 1592, reggae/dub/rocksteady; and many more!
