Josephine performs 'Portrait' for The Crypt Sessions
-----------------------
Born to a Liberian mother and Jamiacan father, Manchester native, Josephine Oniyama is far more than just another soul singer. Releasing her debut self reflective record, 'Portrait' last year, Josephine illustrates a diverse character, enthralling the listener with her ever powerful vocal abilities.
Josephine has been making music for what may seem a long time, playing live since her teenage years and having toured with Paolo Nutini and Michael Kiwanuka however, her debut album kick started her deliberately slow career.
Her trademark smoky, soulful jazzy vocals are every bit infectious and far too distinctive to ignore. Joining us here at Crypt, Josephine delivers a compelling session, not to be missed.
Josephine performed last week at SXSW and will embark on a UK headline tour in April, with a recently announced slot at Lattitude festival. Be sure to catch her whilst you can.
