DESCRIPTION:
"We are very pleased to welcome the virtuous mandolin player Avi Avital from Israel in Schleswig-Holstein in summer 2017. Avital is going to give a one week mandolin-workshop which will lead at the end of the week to a grand final concert with all workshop members.

The workshop celebrates the culture of the mandolin, the joy
of music and the pleasure of playing together with other people. Avi Avital and multi instrumentalist Shaul Bustan will work to- gether with the workshop-members on arrangements of Purcell, Vivaldi, Mozart and Albéniz as well as on Israeli folk music. The necessary sheet music will be available online for all participants after a successful registration.

Terms of Participation e are looking for mandolin players from an age of 18 years (appropriate for beginners with at least two years of experience, amateurs with long experience of playing, semi-professionals as well as students), who enjoy making mu- sic and are look forward to becoming part of the biggest man- dolin ensemble in Schleswig-Holstein.

To create a mandolin orchestra with a rich and full sound we are additionally looking for guitarists, mandola players, mando- cello players as well as double bassists.

Fee The workshop-classes are free for all participants and are sponsored by the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. For accom- modation and full board we will charge a total fee of € 215,-.
The fee has to be fully transferred after application has been con- firmed until May 1st 2017 at the latest.

Workshop-Concert The results of the workshop are going to be presented together with Avi Avital and Shaul Bustan on July 30th 2017 at 7 pm in the ACO Thormannhalle in Büdelsdorf.
