Lacrimosa es un grupo de Gothic Metal formado en Alemania, liderada por Tilo Wolff y Anne Nurmi. Mezclan estilos musicales como elementos del metal, con violines, trompetas y otros instrumentos clásicos. Sus letras están escritas principalmente en alemán, aunque algunos de sus álbumes tienen contenido en inglés, español, latín y finlandés. Sus canciones tratan sobre la soledad, la tristeza, la oscuridad, la desesperación, la felicidad, la esperanza y el amor.
