DESCRIPTION:
In February 2007 gets formed a new musical concept with strong social contents, after over 20 years of immigrations in Genoa. An open project, which unifies different musical styles, gathering the young immigrates’ energy and the language of their traditions, to fuse them into the slang and rhythms of our cities.
La Banda di Piazza Caricamento was a born as an iconic symbol of cohabitation and non violence, of creativity and cultural metamorphosis, of consecration of Genova as a multiethnic city of art. It is made of young immigrates of second generation ( rigorously under 30 on the first audition). The repertory is original and it is part of the musical culture of the band members.
The music of this video is a track from their new album “The Sixth Continent” wich also includes the cover of “Rock The Casbah”, legendary song by The Clash and the track “Ninna nanna per Yanuska” sung by Antonella Ruggiero.
