DESCRIPTION:
DEATH AND MIKE
Elegy for Michael Jackson
We are the world/we are the children.
Death and Mike are now one
One nameone fame one flame
One songone thoughtone word
One one once and for all
Mike, You Got To Be There and there was Ben
Before Music and Me, signed, Forever, Michael
You were Off The Wall and you Thrilled us
You were Bad, Dangerous and made HIStory
You were Invincible Michael Jackson
That human mystery, that vocal miracle
That sound that summed our struggles
These strings of music were long enough
To knit black, white, brown and red
And Jackson was the one who sung
Songs of our pain and pleasure
Seventh child, one of Jackson Five
You made us proud to be alive
To witness your aura, the aural paradise
We lived in whenever you sang
Among your billion admirers was an icy
Stalker by name of Death
And he had his way on Thursday
On this shocking day in June
He abducted you and we still wonder why
The best are always taken first
Our tears are full of memories and music
Of how we felt when we heard your voice
But you are victorious in death for it holds
No more its power over you
Your legend is written in stone
Your songs are soundtracks
To love and life and loss
You shall always be King of Pop
For posterity will hail your posters,
Your perfection, your persona
And Death is a loser after all
For it only sets us free
Free to become birds that sing
At golden dusks by silent seas
Death and Mike are now one
One nameone fame one flame
One songone thoughtone word
One one once and for all
We are the world/we are the children..
