Channel was born in the small town of Henderson, TX in October of 1983. He was a typical teen; heavily involved in sports and music was a staple in his household. His grandma would drag him and his siblings to church every week where he dreaded the old hymns and singing in the choir. He was more interested in rap music. At 13, he and his friends would battle rap with the kids from the other side of town at school. Basketball and rap were his favorite pastimes. At 15, he formed a group and they started making tapes on karaoke and would sell them at school. They would even perform at local dances after football games.

He was also a member of the school band until his junior year when basketball took precedence over it. It was there, he met his wife, whom he began dating while he was a freshman in high school. Because he did so well grade wise in school, his grandma and mother were pretty lenient on him. He quickly became active sexually and began succumbing to the pressures of being a teenager. When his girlfriend was about 17, the Lord dramatically changed her life and she began to pull away from all of the things they once indulged in. Their relationship became strained due to her transformation. He started attending church with her just to maintain the relationship but soon the Lord would completely change his life as well.

Upon graduating high school, he went to Stephen F.Austin State University where he frequented bible studies on campus by an organization entitled Men of God Christian Fraternity, Inc. It was there he met Gabriel Moore and Edwin Tatum and Kingdom Minded Records was established. Before he met those guys, he would sit in his dorm room filling up notepads and tablets with lyrics about the Lord with dreams of sharing it with the world. It was then, he established the moniker, The Channel, which simply means, he desires to be a channel for the message so that souls might be saved. The Lord used MOG and those guys to give Channel the courage to start recording and releasing his music. God has graciously allowed him to be an awesome conduit on and around the college campus for a hip-hop inspired generation.

Channel has released 2 albums, and 2 acclaimed underground mixtapes. His new album ROCKY was released November 9th, 2010. Timothy and Crystal Dixon are the proud parents of their baby boy, Christian and will be welcoming their new addition Jonathan in July 2010. They both are active members of Nacogdoches Bible Fellowship.
