DESCRIPTION:
This work is for solo theremin with live-looping. Though the theremin is a one-note-at-a-time instrument, live-looping allows the instrument to be "overdubbed" in real time to create orchestral textures.
I wrote this specifically for the Etherwave Pro theremin to take advantage of it's wide (nearly seven octave) range.
Though I composed this work a quite a few years ago, I have never recorded it before and, since I just performed it at the 2016 MEME (Midwest Electro-Music Experience) festival in Indianapolis, I decided to follow-up with this video that I recorded earlier today in my studio.
