"Georgia On My Mind" - John Bianchi on ukulele - Video
PUBLISHED: Jan 06, 2013
DESCRIPTION: Written in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael (Music) and Stuart Gorrell (Lyrics), the song was either inspired by Hoagy's sister Georgia Carmichael, or inspired by Frankie Trumbauer's suggestion that Hoagy write a song called "Georgia" because of the popularity of southern themes in music at the time. Obviously, I prefer to think it was written for a girl.
This was recorded on my iPhone, played on Prince Wong's 1920s Martin 2.
