Conn Cavalier Mello 1920s(?) serial number 56542. This is a new listing, not a relist. Video to come. This horn has been de-dented of all major dents, re-plated in worn areas and restored with new springs, felts and corks. There are some dings here and there from the dent work. These should be easy for the owner to remove. The compression is very good, valves are fast and near noiseless, and plating is 80-90%. It has been steam cleaned and lubricated. The Eb crook may be removed to make an F horn. It plays very well either way with excellent range and feel. I have included the deep-coned 2010 Wolfe mouthpiece. With this, be prepared to imitate a French Horn and even a Saxophone (which the mello sometimes replaces in jazz bands). Lip slurs, trills and sound effects are easy with the Cavalier / Wolfe combo. The case is very sturdy with expected wear inside and out. Inside, the felt is still very good. The leather strap is complete and all hinges and clasps work fine. This horn is a 'player,' yet beautiful and important for any collection. Note - this classic horn is nearly 90 years old. Though it plays well, it is not a new horn. It may require 'classic horn' lubricants from time to time, like Hetman 3. Please check my feedback! Flat rate shipping $25. USA only.
