DESCRIPTION:
The mighty Kilslug are a Boston institution. Back in the day, I saw them a hundred times. They often played shows with hardcore punk bands like SSD, and Samhain, but their sound was in sharp contrast to the fast and furious approach of the hardcore scene. They were slower than the slowest Black Sabbath, more dissonant that the noisiest Flipper, and darker than the most satanic metal band. I had a respect for Kilslug, and what they were doing, even if their choice of deity was very different from my own. After 20 years, it is great to see them reform, and it was even better to get the band to do my show. By the end of their set, they had all but destroyed the studio, but they still managed to get the show done. We did not have to shut things down until they trashed soundman Marky Mayhem's microphone at the end of the set. Kilsug contributed one of the best, and strangest episodes of Sonic Lobotomy so far. Good stuff.
