Elias Parish-Alvars (1808-1949) was an English harpist who was born in Devon and was a virtuoso harpist from a young age. He toured Europe and was greatly admired by composer such as Berlioz who called him the ‘Liszt of the Harp’. He published 24 romances for harp.
