DESCRIPTION:
I just bought a New Naxos CD With Kevin R.Gallagher. The old one was "worn out" after hundreds of hours in my CD-player. Fantastic, marvellous playing of Narvaez, Weiss, Bach, Guerau, Murcia, Dowland and Milano arranged for modern guitar. Strongly recommended!!!

This arrangement is from The Frank Koonce series. Music transcribed and adapted for modern guitar, With facsimiles of the orginal tablatures.
This book: The Baroque Guitar in Spain and the New World.
I strongly recommend this series from Mel Bay.
My guitar: Antonio Raya Pardo, Granada 1988.

Guerau probably served in the Spanish court since c. 1659. His passacalles for the guitar were highly lauded particularly by the guitarist Santiago de Murcia. The collection "Poema harmonico" had twenty seven compositions for the guitar specifically in the Baroque style. Included are instructions concerning tablature, technique and embellished performance. The guitar was probably a ten-stringed instrument with the tuning A/a, d/d', g/g, b/b, e'. Most of the pieces were in the minor key and pizzicato
