this is a sad, sappy song that came to me when I was awaiting to fall asleep. i have insomnia pretty bad sometimes and it was very common for me to lay awake next to someone while they drifted off to sleep. i guess this is a song interpolating that with the shittiness of my most recent relationship. in a sense, it was cathartic.
