DESCRIPTION:
The Good Sam Club @ Davey's Uptown - 3402 Main, K.C., Mo. - 12 28 2012 w/ Byron The Sound man...

Owned and operated by the Markowitz family since 1950 in midtown Kansas City, MO.
Original live music up to six nights a week, from bluegrass to punk rock. Kansas City's best sound, best cheap drinks, and 2006's Best Bartender in Kansas City (Mike "Mokie" Curry) all in a neighborhood bar atmosphere. With a 300 person capacity, Davey's is big enough to host a variety of shows, but small enough to always offer an intimate setting.

The Good Sam Club, also know as The Bullabrews...one of the original live music acts at Davey's back in 1984... Ned Scott 913-384-2635...

American Rock and Roll with Country and Blues....
We are a two guitar, bass, vocal, & drum band that have played together in a musical co-op for about 30 years... (In addition, we can add harmonica, accordion, keyboard, trombone and a second percussionist as the need occurs.) We play distinctive shows, about 1 to 8 gigs a month, some for pay and some for free (charitable causes, Good Samaritan basis).

We feel our music and our shows create a fun, jamming, open, vibrant atmosphere that makes the band part of the event (rather than dominating the event) and thus, allows the event to breath.

We supply all sound reinforcement equipment. We can even supply a power generator if needed. All members of the band are knowledgeable and dedicated musicians, who share a love for a diversity of musical styles and the honesty of live performance. This makes for a nice group of musicians who really want to play live shows. This means a fun event that centers on the occasion rather than the band.

WE use straightforward song arrangements that pivot on improvising moments, dynamics, soloing, and jamming...... some call this style of music Edge City Electric Live Post-War AMERICAN. Our outdoor audiences encompass a wide range of people, from strollers and browsers, to people audio taping, to lawn chair and blanket fans. We tend to draw people who are receptive to many styles of music.
Ages in the band group range from 16 to 75 years old...day jobs include a teacher, an auto mechanic, a cable guy, a GPS scientist, an online college course developer, a recording studio tech, an electrician, a pizza chief, a cop, an engineering student, a Vietnam Vet, a retired gas station attendant, and a music student.

We are from Shawnee Mission, Kansas.... we play out at typically:

BBQ Contests

Vintage Car Shows

Outdoor Festivals

City Concerts in the Park Series

Musical Diversity Programs in Public Schools

Farmers Markets

Occasionally restaurants, bars and clubs...

Private Parties

Street Dances

Jam Band Festivals

Business Openings/special occasions

Feel free to ask questions....the first being

Q: "What style of music do we play?"

A: American roots rock, blues, San Francisco and Georgia jamming styles, a trace of KC Jazz, some British 60s, Southwestern country music, some Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, West Texas & St. Louis 50s Rock & Roll, Honky Tonk, and some Psychedelic 60s..... Mostly cover tunes.
