DESCRIPTION:
Departed singer Jimmy Katumba was many things to various people. To some he was the embodiment of a Ugandan pop star while to others he was just an ordinary bespectacled burly man they passed by on the street. At the time of his death on Monday, Katumba was a shadow of the singing man he used to be. No one can put a finger on why he had turned out this way and even he was very secretive about why his fortunes had fallen through his fingers.

He was set to revive his vocal mystique next month though- in a comeback tour dubbed Akomyewo (he is back) and was set to launch a 14-track album comprising new and old material. His latest song was a slow tempo song Tugume, a duet with Iryn Namubiru composed by songsmith Sylver Kyagulanyi. Incidentally he last sang at the chanteuse's concert on June 8 at Garden City.
