The video for Klint is about Frank, a restless teenager trapped in
Suburbia boredom.

“I met Frank when I was shooting a feature documentary about his brother Ryan.”, says Lind. “I filmed with Frank over the course of a year and returned some years later when his mom sold the house and Frank had to pack down his room. Frank is stuck in the most boring, edgeless surroundings, constantly seeking boundaries and urgently attempting to establish his identity as a rebellious skater that no one can control. He is in constant movement but seems helplessly trapped. Destruction makes time pass, and his endless bursts of creativity never finds any recipients. Only the mom can bring out some softness, glimpses of a small boy in a very recent past. I love how his room becomes his sanctuary although somehow also his prison. Frank’s mom believes in independence, she is on the sideline allowing him to be who he is but also with an understandable worry if the son will be OK, if boredom will suddenly take things over the edge into some irreversible bad scenario.
During editing, Benitha chose to inter cut between past and present which I think beautifully unfolds the story of becoming older and freed from the age of having no independence but growing up has the price of loosing childhood. I remember this so strongly as a young teenager, I wanted nothing but becoming independent and accepted as a grown up. Then, as soon as you reach that moment, you realise that you will be that adult for the rest of your life and can never go back.”
