Originaire de Catalogne, cette jeune artiste de 29 ans puise ses racines dans la soul et le gospel. Inéluctablement, à 17 ans Karmen achète ses premiers disques Hip-Hop et DrumnBass, de M.O.P, Assassin en passant par l 'inévitable Wu-Tang Clan ou encore Rah Digga. Encouragée par son ami Herbie J, un dj Hip-Hop et DrumnBass, Karmen scratche sur ses premières galettes. Trois ans plus tard, Karmen commence à s' attacher sérieusement à l 'écriture tout en écoutant la DrumnBass de façon plus intense : Aphrodite, London Electricity, Marky, ou Roni Size forgent entre autres son style. En 2005, elle fait la rencontre du collectif Hip-Hop « Force production ». Au départ elle participe aux productions du crew à travers des scratchs bien sentis. Le véritable déclic se produit sur un track de Klever(rappeur de l'Invisible Crew,Rabbatt Skeudz), Karmen pose son flow le courant passe ! Dans le même temps, la chanteuse fait une autre rencontre importante, Marika, une des pionnières de la DrumnBass au féminin.
Six mois de travail et de complicité plus tard, leur première soirée commune à Nantes est annonciatrice de son arrivée au sein du label Spagh. En parallèle des concerts, Karmen pose sa voix sur les productions de plusieurs artistes comme Serial K, Klever, Hip-J, Casta , Micronologie , Simba , Dj houzmon. . Un grain unique, associé à une voix soul et mâte, Karmen dispose de tous les ingrédients pour marquer de son empreinte la scène électro et hip hop française.



Coming from Catalogna, this 29 year old artist takes her roots in soul and gospel. When she was 17 years old, she naturally buys her first Hip-Hop and DrumnBass records, from M.O.P, to Assassin and the unavoidable Wu-Tang Clan or Rah Digga. Encouraged by her friend Herbie J, a Hip-Hop and DrumnBass dj, Karmen scratches on her first vynils. Three years later, Karmen starts seriously to write lyrics while still listening more intensively DrumnBass : Aphrodite, London Electricity, Marky, or Roni Size make her background. In 2005, she met the Hip-Hop group « Force production ». At the beginning, she participates to the crew productions through good scratchs. A Klevers (A rap singer from Invisible crew/ Rabbatt skeudz) track really triggered her, Karmen puts on her flowin a good feeling! Since then, she completely invests herself in the group . In the meanwhile, the singer meets somebody else very important, Marika, one of the female DrumnBass pionner.
Six months of work and complicity later, their first party together in Nantes announces her arrival in SPAGH label. Beside the concerts, Karmen sings on Serial K productions, which should release soon (on listening on www.spagh.fr). A unique timbre, associated with a soul voice, Karmen has all the ingredients to affect the french jungle stage. Therefore, the future looks full of promises for this young woman!
