DESCRIPTION:
Recorded on August 30, 2010 using a Flip Video camcorder. Older song, but updated and re-worked version. Used more 7th and mino 7th chords, instead of major and minor chords. About a lot of things having to do with politics, and really geo-politics. Wrote it before 9/11 and the huge anti-Iraq war movement, but the line "the United States is not immune to all this turmoil" seems a bit Nostrodomus like to me now; but that isn't what I was writing about exactly at the time, so I can't claim to be prescient or anything. Of course, anybody who was paying attention at the time (late 90s) could've seen things were becoming more one-sided, as the poor and the middle class were in decline, for lack of a better term - so it really wasn't about any castrophic event in particular. It was more about the class divide widening, as well as the events going on in Mexico at the time. Still, I was right about the future turmoil part it seems....and now we have the (real or manufactured?) events of the "Arab Spring" in the North African and Middle-East region.
