This excerpt begins with Julie Williams explaining that her controversial curriculum review committee proposition attempts to bring the community into a discussion about the AP US History curriculum. In response, Lesley Dahlkemper reads a section of an email Julie Williams sent requesting applicants for her proposed committee, along with a very troubling note one of her supporters attached to it when she forwarded it along to other potential candidates.

Board President Ken Witt has openly accused teachers of using students as pawns for political gain. A lot of media outlets are doing their best to paint teachers, parents and the two non-majority board members as "liberals" and "union thugs" who are wrongfully politicizing the education system, while defending the three members whose campaigns were funded by Americans For Prosperity, a conservative political organization affiliated with the Koch Foundation. Julie Williams' own website says "Vote Julie For Jeffco!
The Conservative Choice!"

This email should make it very clear which side of these protests is politicizing what should be non-partisan discussions and pushing an idealogical agenda.
