".a mix of sultry jazz with synths and acoustics make for a very interesting array of some very fine songs creating an ambience not too dissimilar to the best of Paris's Latin Quarter."
(The Winelight club)

"Judith can create oceanic landscapes, cut with complicated passages of off-beat string pulls and laboured, progressive epics."
"Is this Serenity" "…pays dividends with her best display of effects versus prog / jazz / folk."

Biog

It was "Oma Trude" from Kaltental, Judith's musical Nan who showed little Judith how to play classical Piano, and Judith's parents who encouraged her to pay attention to her dreams, indulge in her vivid imagination and find out about the world's most beautiful secrets by learning how to read disguises, people's minds and between the lines. No wonder she became curious to play with other things rather than Pianos that made sounds and visuals and thanks to her father, Carlos, an unrecognized Guitar Hero, Judith fell in love with guitars in her teens and started to write lots of songs playing in her first bands.

Having moved to London in 2002 in order to study Jazz composition and performance, Jazz harmony, Jazz improv and Brazilian Jazz became some of the fundamental ingredients in Judith's music. After having lived in the UK for over seven years some more artists and musical genres have left their traces and imprints on Judith's writing and singing style. You'll find yourself in a wild fusion of Jazz Fusion, world music, Trip Hop, Soul, Folk, and love songs.

After her Jazz degree Judith moved on to doing an MA Audio Technology, has self-produced her debut Album "Fire & Sleep" (purchasable from this site) and is currently working on the production of her latest material.

Since having finished uni she has been performing her compositions on a regular basis at various Acoustic/ Jazz venues and Festivals around London and the UK.

The sound of her live band incorporates Folky melodies carried by voice and flute which are accompanied by electric and acoustic guitars, while Bass and Drums set a rich groove inspired by Rhythms taken from all over the whole weird world.

When not performing with the band, (sometimes affectionately referred to as the "[peanut]butterflies" when they play especially exceptional), which consists of some of the most talented and promising young Jazz musicians in London, Judith also plays as a solo act having played at some fine venues around London and the UK recently.
One little secret: Some of you might have heard her before, enjoying a midnight busking session in the tunnels of the London Underground where she used to play regularly performing her own songs or jazzed-up covers of all time favourites.

Influences range from the 60s and 70s fusion era, Pat Metheny and John Mc Laughlin to Brazilian artists such as Joyce, Egberto Gismonti or Airto Moreira whereas Judith's vocals are inspired by a wide range of popular voices of the 20th century like for example Björk or PJ Harvey, Beth Orton, Lou Rhodes, Morcheeba, Kate Bush, Beth Gibbons, Cat Power, Sade, TokTokTok, Erykah Badu, Joni Mitchell, John Lennon, Astrud and Joao Gilberto, Chet Baker, Billie Holiday, Cassandra Wilson – to name a few
