Once upon a time...

Storytelling has been around as long as the human race. It's a craft too often neglected in today's fast world of short messages. People, media, yes even performers underestimate its importance and added value as a means of communication.

If this is a rule, JP Den Tex is clearly the exception. His storytelling is a form of art. With a dry sense of humour, often embracing the underdog role, he pulls his audiences into the story of the song and consequently gives them the added pleasure of fully understanding that song.

Regularly fans, bookers and fellow-musicians ask Den Tex why his live set consists mainly of 'new' songs and remark that by doing so he neglects the many pearls from his extensive (older) oeuvre. A dilemma many artists face and which JP solved by asking his fans and followers to, first nominate and then, vote for their favourite JP Den Tex song.
