Another of the Great Be Bop guitarist has passed on...
I have good memories of Johnny Smith from the time that I met him thru the years that I saw him play guitar or just talking to him at a gig or at his music store. And all because of my great friend Bobby Montoya having been Johnny's prized guitar student.
If Johnny couldn't remember me I'll I would have to say was - I am Bobby's friend - and he would smile and we would talk LOL : )
Johnny was truly a Scholar and a Gentleman and was ALWAYS kind and considerate to me.
Johnny would have been 91 years old June 25..2013..
Me and many many others say.. - Thank YOU Johnny for having blessed this world with your fabulous music .. And thanks for being a Pilot and seeing the sign - Walk Don't Run- and writing a classic tune : )
