Molly Hatchet The band formed in 1971 through the initiative of two guitarists, Dave Hlubek and Steve Holland, to which are added subsequently to the guitar Duane Roland, Banner Thomas on bass and in 1975 Bruce Crump on drums and Danny Joe Brown on vocals. In 1977 they sign their first contract with Epic discorafico and the following year released their first album: "Molly Hatchet". The producer is Tom Werman who had previously worked with the likes of Cheap Trick and Ted Nugent. In a short time the Molly Hatchet reach a decent reputation. "Flirtin 'with Disaster" of 1979 sells a million and a half copies. The Followers "Beatin 'the Odds" Take No Prisoners 1980 and 1981 (both with the new singer Jimmy Farrar) get good positions in the USA. During the eighties are produced album "No Guts ... No Glory" (with the return of Danny Joe Brown on vocals and grafting Riff West on bass and John Galvin on keyboards), "The Deed Is Done" "Double Trouble Live" and "Lightning Strikes Twice", which sees the replacement of Dave Hlubek with Bobby Ingram (formerly the Danny Joe Brown Band). After seven years of silence, in 1996 by Bobby Ingram created a new version of the band releasing the excellent Devil's Canyon. During the recording of the album the singer Danny Joe Brown was forced to leave due to health problems. His place is taken by Phil McCormack who becomes the stable element in all subsequent works of the band.
