PUBLISHED:  Feb 09, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Steel Assassin formed in 1982 have four full length releases, From the Vaults, War of the Eight Saints, In Hellfire Forged and most recently WW II: Metal of Honor. They are also featured on Metal Blade Records "Metal Massacre 6." The twin flying-v assault of Kevin Curran and Mike Mooney, the agressive front man John Falzone, the freight-train thunder of Phil Grasso and Greg Michalowski, all become trademarks of the Steel Assassin style.

"The Wolfpack" is a song featured on Steel Assassin's WWII: Metal of Honor release.

Historic note:
The term "Wolfpack" refers to the mass attack tactics used by the Kriegsmarine in German submarines called U-boats during the Battle of the Atlantic. U-boats usually patrolled separately, often strung out in co-ordinated lines across likely convoy routes, only being ordered to congregate after one located a convoy and alerted the headquarters, so a Wolfpack consisted of as many U-boats as could reach the scene of the attack. If their numbers were sufficiently high compared to the expected threat of the escorts, they would attack.
