My name is. John Dough



I was born and raised in Washington, DC, the original murder capital! Life ain't never been easy! I done put in years of work on the streets and in the studio, yet I'm still not where I need to be! I have been underground in the DC streets FOREVER! I have dropped 10 albums in that time frame, still the industry refuses to open the door to me because DC is my home and what I represent! For some reason the industry feels that any artist from the District of Columbia area has limited skills and a bad attitude, but that is not always the case.



I have had songs stolen from me from record labels! I have had my producers blow up and leave me behind! And I have lost countless artist and friends to death and jail! Yet I am still here!! Like I tell all the bammas that hate, GOD just got something big for me. I just got to last long enough to see what it is! That's as real as it gets! I am not no studio gangsta! Anything that you hear out of my mouth, I have done and will do! My lyrics don't promote violence, but violence is a part of my life, so I rap about it! I don't even consider myself a gangsta, what I am is a BORN SURVIVOR! There is a big difference! I don't start any trouble, but I have been raised to finish it! So jump out there if you want to!



The point I am trying to get to in life is the point where JUMP OUT DAY don't matter! The point where my life is not exclusively exposed to pipe heads, dead end jobs, money hungry broads, and niggas with no future! The point where I can finally pay my mother back for all the time and effort that she has put into me! The point where my criminal record does not matter! The point that I can feel comfortable about sending my kids off to college so they don't have to go through the shitty life that I have had to go through! See with me it ain't about being rich or famous, I'm just trying to eat! I feel if the world can change the financial life of artist who talk about nothing but their dub's, bank account, and ice they got, then it should open up to me because I got way more to talk about than that!



What ever happened to rap being a tool for us to use to express ourselves and paint pictures about life experiences? I don't know, but that's the rap that I have grown up on and I continue to spit in my music! I don't want your pity, just your love! If you can't give me that JUST FEEL ME!
