DESCRIPTION:
John sings a song at my house and participates in a delicious potluck with friends.

I revisit this years later, listening to the song I always enjoyed the melody of but never really dissected in the moment. I reflect on the good times we had in that house; the house shows, the parties, the love, the relationships, the friendships. 12 people in one big house, so many bands, artists and memories. One death. I have the eviction noticed framed on my current wall.

But the song, with time having given it this new perspective, oh how did I miss it? "Keep your eyes open, while we are still burning and bright." God, how it all comes together sometimes. I have John Davey lyrics tattooed on my skin, one of two I have, the other being my probation term. Because important things deserve important places. John's writing is important, meaningful, personal but so accessible. He's truly a gem of our generation's songwriters.
