Dottie West had signed on to be in the video with John but she was suffering with an illness at the time of the shooting, and the project could not wait for her to recover. The Video was filmed by Vazda Video Studios on location in Birmingham, Alabama. John Cody wrote the song for his wife Stephanie. Merle Haggard recorded it and it was His first release on Curb Records. The song is on the Merle Haggard "Blue Jungle" Cd and is included in the Merle Haggard Anthology. John Cody was a staff writer for Merle Haggard's Inorbit Music Publishing during the mid- 80's in Palo Cedro, California.
