. I had the pleasure of catching him "live"at the Grove ('72), and in '73 at the Sahara and the Torrance Holiday Inn.
In fall of '79 I took my lady friend to Sherman Oaks, Ca. to catch Haymes at Jerry Van Dyke's club. Most enjoyable. Sadly within 6 months he succumbed to lung cancer.
