DESCRIPTION:
On October 27, 1084, old-time fiddlers and their accompanists from all over Missouri gathered in the State Capitol Building for an historic reunion and fiddle contest to commemorate WOS radio, which broadcast from the Capitol in the 1920-30s.
This is Pete McMahan of Harrisburg, MO. He's accompanied by John Griffin on guitar and Jack Deck on the banjo. Tunes are Grey Eagle and Ozark Mountain Waltz. The Waltz is on of Pete's compositions and draws on parts from the Last Waltz and Messer's Memorial to some extent.
To me no one delivered the kind of intensity and concentration when playing in contest that Pete could.
