DESCRIPTION:
There was a bottle of Burgundy underneath your shirt. /
We snuck into the alcove space in the back of the bar. /
I got a cigarette burn on my wine red shirt. /
Cardinal Street was quiet, the moonlight was thick, /
We stole a dirty sheet from the back of a painter's van. /
We slept on the floor on a moon-white sheet. /
In your window was a painted vase /
And your eye color was the same. /
I see that vase it was the palest blue. /
I woke up in the tree tops, verdant and pure. /
Your were picking flowers from the neighbors yard. /
You've got a burgundy stain on your grass-green skirt. /
Driving through the country, the bruised lemon sky, /
Pulled over to a fruit stand out on the side of the road. /
You put a lemon and lime in your wine red purse. /
On your dresser was a cigarette case /
And your eye color was the same. /
I see that case it is the palest green. /
What I remember as the brightest sky /
Is brighter as days go by. /
I see that sky it is the palest blue. /
