"Coven, whose 1969 album 'Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls' remains a classic of the occult rock genre, are back again with "Jinx".

Fans of their dark psychedelic debut will not be disappointed. The inro track is pure Coven, a whirlwind of atmospheric bgm & maniacal witchy cackling that hurls us into the heavy doomy riff which opens Out Of Luck. The vibe here is familiar yet fresh are also some trips into less familiar territory. To The Devil A Daughter & The 2013 version of Wicked Woman verge on the nu-metal adding relentless electronic drums to the mix. Danger/JuJu Goat has a demonically catchy, rare-groove, disco beat & WDMRS (the team-up with "We Are Hex") is an energetic punky number with tribal drums, clashing guitars and vocals reminiscent of Nina Hagen or Lene Lovitch.

Fret ye not though true believers, the classic Coven sound is fully in evidence especially on Out Of Luck, Epitaph & Quick and the Dead.
Also collaborating with Coven on this CD are Wolfpack 44 who, like our unholy selves, proudly sport a sigil crafted by Jinx. Black Swan has a soaring Hawkwind-esque space-rock vibe, and I must admit the title brought a wry smile to my lips as I was reminded of the flocks of girls dressed up as Nathalie Portman's damaged ballerina that have congregated at Halloween parties over the last few years.

The Baroque psychedelia of Quick and the Dead was most welcome, the harpsicord-like intro conjured up feelings of opulent decay which lead us satisfactorily into the ultimate track Ave Satanas which, quite frankly, is exactly what it should be." - Review by Jason Atomic at Satanic Mojo blog (http://satanicmojo.blogspot.com.br/2014/02/coven-returneth-with-jinx.html)
