Tam White and Jim Condie - Stonemason's Blues - July2000 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 06, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Back in the early years of this century, the late Tam White and I would occasionally hit the road and do some small gig tours around 'rural' England. Once or twice Boz Burrell of Bad Company and King Crimson begged us to let him come along for the craic - sadly this was not one of those occasions, as these tours were invariably OTT! However, his absence did not diminish the performance! Tam reckoned his voice sounded best live - this goes a long way to demonstrating that. I loved working with Tam - our association went back nearly thirty years - and he always gave me the space to play what I wanted. I think Tam enjoyed hearing what his various accompanists would do to his sings. This song, Stonemason's Blues, - a song inspired by his many years spent working on building sites - was one he recorded with his Shoestring Band (Neil Warden and Frazer Speirs) in the 90s.
