It was 1984, and Otis Hawk gathers a NJ friend, Cordell "Boogie" Mosson, the bassist from Parliament Funkdelic, along with Jimmy Cirillo to handle and create the lead guitar work, along with a Keyboard player named Bobby Irons, and headed into a District Heights, MD studio. All were living in MD at the time and with the lights low, and the mood creative, they cut the basic track, and Jimmy then went in and laid down the lead guitar flow that ices the cake.
